The road to the cabin is not maintained during winter. Because of that, customer should travel the rest of the journey (approx. 8 km) by own snowmobile or by skiing. The owner can arrange transportation services with an extra fee, sled, sleigh or ATV will be used. If you need transportation services, please contact the owner directly. The cabin is not preheated in winter time. There is no wall outlet for car heating in winter.
NOTE! The road cannot be used during spring thaw (from mid-April to the end of May). The cabin cannot be accessed during that time.

Taavetin mökki is an original, atmospheric and cozy cabin in the middle of wilderness. The cabin is beautifully decorated and the furniture is mainly skillful craftsmanship. There is a specialty in the sauna; recline-type sauna benches. You can admire a nice sunset directly from the sauna benches.

The destination is ideal for wilderness activities. It is surrounded by a large state owned small game hunting area, see destination 2619 Ranua (www.eraluvat.fi). There are also 25 hectares of the owner’s land around the cabin, which can be used also for hunting.

Fish species in the pond: perch, pike and roach. There are ponds and lakes near the cabin. Fishing in these waters is usually permitted by the fisheries management fee, which allows you to fish with one fishing rod and lure. Line fishing is allowed without fisheries management fee (www.eraluvat.fi).

The owner can arrange fishing, hunting and other nature excursions as well as meals in the middle of the wilderness.

The sights of Ranua and Rovaniemi are easily accessible. Ranua Zoo 33 km. Services and attractions in Rovaniemi city centre 60 km (including science centers Arktikum and Pilke, art museum and cultural house Korundi), Arctic Circle and Santapark 68 km.
