Small wilderness cabin near the Arctic Circle, by river Meltausjoki.
Combined kitchen-living room, alcove with convertible sofa, low sleeping loft (6 m²) with 2 mattresses, steep stairs to the loft. Heating with soapstone wood stove, glass door in the stove oven, plus gas heater. Solar panel lightning. Sink with drain, cooking facilities on a wood-burning stove. USB charging point.
Separate outdoor sauna (wood heated stove). Campfire place in yard.
Buying drinking water is recommended. Household water from river. Boiling of the water before usage is recommended.
In winter cottage will be pre-heated.
Distance to Rovaniemi 60 km. Private restaurant Poro-Pekan Pirtti (in Patokoski village) 7 km.
River Meltausjoki flows freely and it is suitable e.g. for canoeing and sportfishing. Good opportunities for water activities, as well as a good berry and mushroom picking areas. Also good and extensive hunting areas.
Cabin can be reached by car year round. Bed linen and final cleaning for this cabin can NOT be rented; please remember to bring you own bed linen and towels and clean the cabin before leaving.
