Misskiss is a charming little cabin located on the shore of a peaceful forest lake, on the outskirts of the village Kierinki, which is in a nationally significant landscape area in Central Lapland. Kierinki is one of the few villages saved from the devastation of war in Lapland. There are services like village shop, café, art gallery, private restaurant, small hotel, holiday apartments, program service companies offering nature experiences and snowmobile rental.
112 km to the north from Rovaniemi, 65 km southwest from the center of Sodankylä, lake Miskisjärvi 40 m (length 1 km, width 150 m), deep and soft-bottomed beach, pier and rowing boat. The beach area is rocky, a footbridge to the sauna and the beach.
Log cabin, built in 2007. Living area with a bed for one person, alcove with a spreadable bed, another alcove with bunk bed, an open terrace.
Lakeside sauna with steam room and a small dressing area. The sauna is equipped with wood-burning sauna stove and water tank connected to the sauna stove. Tank will be used for water heating. Water to the sauna must be carried from the lake by using a bucket.
The cabin has a solar panel, from which lighting and electricity to the socket and TV. For cold storage LPG fridge.
The snowmobile trail network passes through the village shop. There is a fuel sales in the village shop. Therefore, this destination is ideal for snowmobilers. Several other activities available like hunting/fishing and organized excursions (for example snowmobile safaris, dog sledding and fishing trips). Snowmobile safaris and guided ice fishing trips can also be booked from the owner.
The swimming beach, fireplace and lean-to shelter maintained by the village association on Riipijoki, distance 1 km.
The restaurant next to the village shop is a cozy and private restaurant named Hietalan talo, which serves Lappish food in an authentic and atmospheric milieu.
There are also many cultural events arranged in the village (www.kierinki.com).
Hunting: Small game hunting area on state owned lands, 2613 Maunu (see www.eraluvat.fi) within 15 km distance. Other hunting destinations 3606 Vasaselkä and 3617 Pomo-Rajala can be easily reached too.
Fishing: Fishing in lakes (including large and fishy lake Unarinjärvi) is usually permitted with fisheries management fee. One fishing rod can be used. More information, see www.eraluvat.fi. Fishing in rapids is also possible. An excellent destination is river Meltausjoki, which starts from the lake Unarinjärvi within 24 km distance. Destination 2561 Meltausjoki (www.eraluvat.fi).
The owner has a few nets and fishing permits that can be used for fishing in Miskisjärvi.
