Log-built wilderness cabin by the lake Pitkäjärvi, jetty, own boat. There is one room with 2 double bunk beds (width 140 cm) and kitchenette in the cabin. Sauna by the lake with a room with fireplace (1 bed) in separate building. No electricity.
Heating with wood stove, gas stove, drinking water from the lake, campfire site.
WILDERNESS CABIN: Facilities in wilderness cabins are often more modest than in holiday cottages. Cabin is not preheated before customer’s arrival. Cabin should be cleaned by the customer during the holiday and after that. Due to long distances maintenance doesn’t check the cabin after all customers. If the cabin is not cleaned or there are deficiencies, please contact the caretaker immediately on arrival by calling. Please, remember to bring your own bed linen and towels (can not be rented).
This cabin requires outdoor attitude and skills (how to make fire, for example). If you’re not sure, please consider another option. Water is not examined yearly so boiling the drinking water before use is recommended.
Peaceful location on the border of Konttikivalo forest. Good hiking-, berry and mushroom picking possibilities. Also good cloudberry swamps in the neighbourhood.
Moderate swimming possibility.
Possibility for net fishing in lake Pitkäjärvi (licence Ranua-Tervola-Simo 2003 + fishing management fee). Lure fishing possibility (fishing management fee).
Cabin can be reached by car in summer.
Distances: Ranua 50 km, Rovaniemi 60 km.
